A BBC Reportage on Ancient Writing Systems featuring the Bonn Maya  Dictionary Project

The work of the Project was the focus of a BBC Future report by Sophie Hardach on the durability of texts from lost civilisations (August 2022). In addition to Maya writing and its research in Bonn, the article also looks at Sumerian cuneiform writing as well as the Mediterranean writing systems, which is the focus of a long-term research project at Cambridge University, directed by our project partner Pippa Steele.
